Ionized Core
Product Overview
IONIZED CORE is an experimental ambient sample pack with lo-fi influences, designed for music production and film, TV, and video game scoring. This collection features electronic and synthetic sounds created with hardware synthesizers. It includes granular textures, corrosive atmospheres, and incandescent sound effects. What’s Inside
Discover an essential collection for contemporary music production. IONIZED CORE brings together 134 original sounds, including crackling ambiences, polarized atmospheres, and dense drones. The collection also includes unstable ambient pads and particularly abrasive sound effects.
Some atmospheres run for more than one minute, with either steady backgrounds or slow variations in texture, tension, and density. Several are also provided as construction kits, with their individual elements included separately. The files are clearly named to make identifying and selecting sounds easier.
Creative Possibilities
Incorporate sounds with a unique identity into your productions. This pack delivers electrified sounds suspended between diffuse tension and controlled darkness. Use the drones as a foundation, build tension with the atmospheres, emphasize key moments with the textures, and mark transitions with the sound effects. A touch of static electricity adds further character to the collection.
Created in the same key, the sounds can be layered to add greater density and complexity to a production. Use them as they are or reshape them extensively to create new variations.
Shaping the Sound
The sounds in this collection are supplied in 24-bit / 96 kHz format, allowing for extensive processing while preserving excellent audio quality. You can fragment, twist, and even erode these sounds to create entirely new variations.
Creative Process
IONIZED CORE was created using hardware synthesizers, including the Sequential Pro 3, Waldorf Iridium, and Access Virus TI2. The Sequential Pro 3’s internal saturation played an important role in creating the source material, while the Access Virus TI2’s Sample Rate Reducer was used to introduce controlled digital degradation.
The raw recordings were then processed with external hardware before being extensively reshaped through chains combining pitch manipulation, granular stretching, and spectral processing. This process produced a collection of original and inspiring electroluminescent sounds.
