Shaping the Sound

This horror scoring sample pack is based on complex sound synthesis and processing, yet remains remarkably easy to use. The samples integrate easily into your sound compositions, even in particularly dense arrangements. You can also use these sounds as raw material for your own creations. Stretch, fragment, and interweave the samples to create hundreds of unique variations. Delivered in 24-bit/96 kHz, they provide a high-resolution foundation suitable for even the most intensive processing.

Creative Process

To create CINEMATIC FEAR, we used recordings of hardware synthesizers, including the Sequential Pro 3, the Korg opsix, and the Waldorf Iridium. We also recorded sounds from various materials, including metal, wood, and polystyrene, using RØDE NT4 and Neumann RSM 191 microphones, as well as Barcus-Berry 4000 contact sensors.

The recordings were then edited and, in some cases, layered or subjected to sophisticated granular processing. Some sources were transformed to the extreme, to the point of becoming unrecognizable.
